Live Out Your Childhood Dreams With A Porsche 911 Sc

By Gwen Lowe

Buy a sports car is a dream that every car owner has but with the pricing of new high performance or super cars it is out of most peoples reach. Another option is purchasing a used sports car, this does have its disadvantages but at the end of the day you'll be sitting in a head turn vehicle. This is where the Porsche 911 SC comes into the picture.

It's a thoroughbred sports car with none of the modern driver assistance systems. It was built to be driven like a true sports car should be. Feeling the road through the steering wheel while the deep groan of the motor behind you urges you on to depress the accelerator just a little more. Hearing the turbo spin up just before the squeal of the tires let rip on the blacktop can give you a sense of impending doom.

As the car pushes you back into your seat you realize you are in the hands of German technology at its best and the sense of doom soon disappears and a feeling of euphoria overwhelms you. The excitement builds and that when you realize you are in one of the most brilliant and iconic cars of all time.

The 911 series nearly had and early end to its existence but the SC managed to keep the 911 tradition going even up to today. The predecessors to the SC we simple flat six motors, naturally aspirated and at the time were producing far less power than their rivals. This might have been the death knoll of the 911 series but one man's vision saved it and proceeded to set up an endless stream of legends to come.

Turning the key on one of these masterpieces brings to life a menacing bass thumping motor. The air cooled motor idles smoothly, waiting for the gas pedal to be depressed and unleash the monster below. Dropping a gear down when at a slow pace gets the rear wheels excited and ready to give a quick squeal before hugging the blacktop and giving it everything it's got.

The interior is simplistic and was geared to deliver only the essential monitoring tools to the driver. The seats hugged the driver and passenger giving a sense of safety as the speed increased. The steering was old school and no power steering was implemented. This gave a good feel of the road and how the vehicle was responding to different surfaces.

This was pure machine made for driving. Feeling the road through the steering, the grown of the motor behind you it was pure driving pleasure. It has a bulletproof construction and brilliant stability even on the tightest of corners. The interior is left little to the imagination but for this time period it was one of the best.

Continuous improvement and new technologies the 911 series has become the most popular sports car in history. The iconic car was the starting point for this revolution in sports cars and toady remains the most iconic sports car. If you ask anybody about a Porsche they will immediately refer the SC design.
